40 Days of Prayer begins on Wednesday, February 17. The guided readings are available in the box on my office door and new copies will be distributed to the kids during Sunday School. This is a great opportunity for parents and kids to read the Bible together. There is a question, activity, prayer, etc. that goes with each day's reading. If you would like, you can bring the completed guides to church and we'll share them with our church family in the newsletter.
The Children's Ministry Council will meet on Wednesday, February 24 at 5:30 in FH6 (across from the library). We will discuss the Egg Hunt, Church Camp and decide on dates for Vacation Bible School. All parents are invited to join us and childcare is available in the nursery.
Our kids have taken on the service project of replenishing Health Kits that will be distributed by UMCOR. These kits will be stored for future use. Here's what they need to bring.... Preschool through 2nd grade kids... 1 hand towel, 1 washcloth, 1 comb and 1 nail file or fingernail clippers (no emery boards, please). 3rd - 6th grade kids will bring..... 1 bath size bar of soap, 1 toothbrush, 6 band-aids and $2.00 to help cover the cost of purchasing toothpaste and to help with shipping costs. These items need to be brought in by Sunday, March 7.
Our Confirmation Class will join other United Methodists kids at the annual Confirmation Retreat on March 5 and 6 at Camp Egan. This is a great weekend of education and fun and our kids always enjoy their time at Camp Egan.
Dates for Church Camp.... Sonshine Camp (for kids entering the 1st and 2nd grade) is June 12-13; Elementary Camp (for kids entering grades 3rd - 5th) is June 30-July 2 and 6th grade camp is June 28-July 2. Watch the newsletter for enrollment deadlines.
